Dear Members (Friends),

Welcome to a new season at the Club! We are amped to get started on another year of golf at the Club and for you to once again be a part of our membership family. It has felt like a long offseason and we are all optimistic for an early spring golf start. The snow has already melted and with some wind, and dry(er), warmer weather we anticipate being out swinging the sticks soon. If you haven't registered for your 2019 golf membership, be sure to do so soon so that you are ready to play! SMGolf Rewards Program. The biggest announcement of 2019 for our loyal membership community comes with the introduction of our new loyalty rewards program: SMGolf Rewards. To thank you for your loyalty to the St. Marys Golf & Country Club, we are offering a minimum of 4% and up to 20% back for all purchases at the Club, including golf, pro shop, restaurant and bar purchases. We elected to include golf membership purchases in the loyalty points program, while other courses often do not, due to the high ticket value. Thereby, members are earning up to $110 back for their membership purchases, to be used towards purchases in the pro shop, restaurant and bar! To learn more about the program, click here.

The future of the game is strong. As many of you know, three years ago we had a goal of focusing on long-term sustainability of the local golf community. To start, we focused on developing a youth program that focused on three key fundamentals: 

A. 'Learn' the Game – through proper golf lessons,

B. 'Practice' the Game – through a fun, coached golf league, and

C. 'Enjoy' the Game – through junior golf memberships (the 'Ultimate Junior' membership) and the St. Marys Junior Golf Team.

We are delighted to announce that we now have 40 'Ultimate Junior' golf members plus a growing number of regular junior golf members, and another 18 new juniors ready to start the newly introduced 'Intro to Golf' beginner golf lessons. The future of the game of golf is strong in St. Marys and area, and we are excited to see such enthusiasm from the local golf community.

We will continue to invest into this community asset. We are committing to another year of investment in this great property by proceeding with our bunker renovation plan again this golf season. Furthermore, we are swapping more golf carts for new Yamaha carts, as well as a full paint of the exterior of the clubhouse. And even with these substantive financial investments, we have maintained last year's membership pricing into 2019 meaning there will be no price changes for 2019!

Your feedback is important to us – it’s how we’ll continue to get better. Thank you to those that filled out our most recent Member Survey. We appreciate the comments - both positive and constructive - and are already in the process of making modifications, based on this feedback, for the coming golf season. This detailed information is shared with you in Appendix I, where we list the most common feedback and the corresponding changes we are making, as a result. And congratulations to SMGCC member Lynn Ransom on winning the $50 gift card for the Pro Shop, for filling out the member survey!

Club events are a HUGE part of the member experience. Get involved by signing up for the many events this season. See Appendix II below for the 2019 key dates and add them to your calendar!

So, what does the St. Marys Golf & Country Club mean to you? In the recent SMGCC survey, 'a sense of community' was the number one answer!
