Drumroll please! Our journey through the top 10 most legendary shots at St. Marys Golf has come to its peak. This week, we unveil the #1 most unique hole—a true gem chosen by our General Manager for its unforgettable character and challenge.
RANKED #1:
HOLE 7 — Bottom of the Hill
When choosing the most unique golf shot, you must think of a shot unlike any other you've seen. One that offers numerous ways to reach the target. That shot is from the bottom of the hill on Hole #7, nicknamed Lofty Brae. I suggest asking your playing partner to stand at the top of the hill to give you a direction, because you won’t see the pin from down there. If you're lucky enough to get a good lie, take a chance with your wedge and aim high. If not, choose any club in your bag because you have no idea where this next shot will go. 7-iron? 4-iron? Putter? This shot is all about pulling out your bag of tricks. Just don’t hit it too far, or you might be over the green, facing a shot that could send you right back to the bottom. Hit it short, and you won't even have to move—your ball will return to you like a loyal dog. Get frustrated, and you’ll probably be down there for a while. So bring at least three clubs, snacks, and a drink.
