Back for 2015 is the Brain & Mind Matters (BAMM) Golf Tournament, presented by Cowan Insurance Group, in support of mental health and traumatic brain injuries. The golf tournament is being held at the St. Marys Golf & Country Club on September 25, 2015. Last year's BAMM Golf Tournament raised over $150,000 for mental health and traumatic brain injuries in Huron Perth, Stratford and St. Marys, through its unique participant fundraising model.
The 2nd Annual Brain & Mind Matters charity Golf Tournament is a fundraiser first, and a terrific day of golf second. Participants will pay a small golf registration fee of $25, which will include golf, cart and dinner, and will then be asked to raise an additional $250 minimum in donations with the goal of using the greater community resource as a way to increase the BAMM Community Fund. The Staffen Family will also be matching dollar for dollar for funds raised, up to $40,000!
"We are so thankful for the community's involvement and dedication to last year's fundraising. Our participants reached out to friends and family in our local communities and the final fundraising numbers blew us away," says Roger Quinn, BAMM Co-Chair. "With the money we are raising, we are going to make a huge impact in our community for these two tremendous causes."
The BAMM committee, consisting of Kelly Deeks, Sam Corriveau, Deb Munro, Steve Shaw, Nelson Goad, Roger Quinn and Matt Staffen of St. Marys, alongside Ken and MaryHelen Dale, Rasmus Fahraeus, and Steve & Susan Culliton of Stratford, have been busy selling sponsorships and have already sold 9 out of 10 Gold Sponsorships and over 30 Silver (Tee) sponsorships for the Tournament. "The participation from local business has been amazing," says Sam Corriveau. "We are thankful to everyone who has stepped up this spring." There is one remaining Gold Sponsor spot left for any interested businesses, which will provide many advertising opportunities and other benefits, one of which will include an exclusive, special Hole (or Cart) event sponsorship the day of the event.
REGISTRATION
Last year's BAMM charity Golf Tournament involved fun and unique hole events, a free frozen-yogurt truck and much more. The day of golf was followed by a special banquet celebration where special videos were shared about local people suffering from mental health and/or a traumatic brain injuries. "It's all about the stories that we are sharing and the impact that we can make for those suffering from mental health and/or traumatic brain injuries," comments BAMM Family Founder Rob Staffen.
"The next step is BAMM Golf Tournament registration," says Matt Staffen, BAMM Co-Chair. "We have already sold 60 spots for the Golf Tournament and like last year, expect to be sold out well before the tournament date. The involvement from this great community has been astounding." GRANT PROGRAM
The BAMM Board of Directors have been working in participation with the Stratford Perth Community Foundation (SPCF) on its 2015 Grant Program, over the past two months, which will provide funds to local organizations focused on mental health and/or traumatic brain injuries. "Over $20,000 will be given out this year to local organizations through the BAMM grant process. We felt it was important to make a difference today," says Matt Staffen. "A recent contribution from our amazing partners at The Cowan Foundation, in combination with the grant money dedicated from the BAMM Community Fund, have helped bring the available funds up to over $75,000 in grant money over the next three years!"
