Local Charity Set to Give Out Over $20,000 in Grant Money in 2015
The Brain & Mind Matters (BAMM) Community Fund, in partnership with the Stratford Perth Community Foundation, St. Marys Golf & Country Club and Cowan Insurance Group are set to give out over $20,000 in grant money towards two local organizations this Fall. The BAMM Community Fund, which supports outpatient programs for mental health and traumatic brain injuries in Stratford, St. Marys and Perth County, will be making the special announcement of the two recipients at the upcoming BAMM Golf Tournament presented by Cowan Insurance Group on September 25th, 2015 at the St. Marys Golf & Country Club.
The BAMM Community Fund received five submissions from local organizations in Southwestern Ontario and there were two programs that really stood out to them, both of which had long-term visions of growth for the communities in which they serve. The two large grants will be given to a local mental health organization and the other, to an organization that supports brain injuries.
"We appreciate all submissions that we received and each one had their merits, with a focus on improving our communities of Stratford, St. Marys and Perth County. The two programs that we have chosen, really stood out to us, with a long-term vision and plan for mental health and traumatic brain injuries," reports Matt Staffen, BAMM Family Founder and Co-Chair.
The two grant recipients will be featured on a video presentation during the dinner reception following the fundraising golf tournament. The BAMM Community Fund Golf Tournament is once again, expected to sell out and with this recent announcement, the organizing committee expects that the tournament will be sold out by mid-August.
"Our unique, participant fundraising model is the big reason why we were able to grant out over $20,000 with Cowan Insurance Group in 2015," says Roger Quinn, BAMM Co-Chair. "We expect big fundraising dollars to come in once again from this year's golf tournament event, meaning more grant money for next year!"
